a very loooonnnnnnnnng vacation

I know, right?! Where have i BEEN?! Did you miss me? Geez, it's been such a busy few months. And, I'm gonna be honest... lately PINTEREST and napping have taken up all of my free time! So here is a semi-quick overview of the past couple months.....
I went to UTAH! Man alive, do i really miss that place sometimes. A LOT. It was so fun to be there, and see these people:

Baby Reese is the sweetest. And it's so cute to see Andrew as a dad, he's great at it.

Priscilla had a birthday

And Priscilla got married....

So we had a few girls nights

And a BRIDAL SHOWER!!!

AND.... the big day!... But you'll have to wait for that one. it deserves it's own post.



We also went to the AVETT BROTHERS! I love them so much. They are absoutely the best band i have ever seen live. They're amazing and PRECIOUS! And, did I mention, I LOVE THEM?!



The YSA went to the NC State Fair. It was such a blast. We loved it. Cotton candy, deep fried EVERYTHING, 500 lb. watermelons, and they mayyyyy have even gotten me on THE CLAW. Which i mayyyyy have loved.

these are the things i've always known about my mom:
her favorite color is yellow
she HATES inside animals
she loves her children A LOT, and cries every time she talks about them
she was raised on a farm, raising tobacco. she works harder than any woman i know
she loves it when i make her mixed cds
her favorite movie is The Fugitive

but tonight, i learned something new. my mother also finds ttthiiisss man attractive....

that's right. smokey robinson. in a v-neck. my mother has soul. and she is precious.

i miss her. this girl is on the list. the list of the bests. we're talking, the best of the BEST. that's her. she's gone to zion. but it's ok, she'll return. why? cause this is where her heart, her home, and her best friend is at!

today, i'm givin' it up to my friends. i love them. they're true. they're amazing. and they're MINE. i love that they came into my life, and never left. never, not once. whether states away, or on the couch next to me... they are always in my soul. i never have to wonder if they're mine. because they always have been, and they always will be. i don't have to chase after them, prove myself to them, or fear that they'll ever leave. they love strong, forgive easy, and laugh through it all. i love them, cheers to them!

the proof is in the picture. don't we just LOOK like eternal best friends?? i think so. these girls, are the best in the world. my val val is here, visiting from utah. we haven't seen her since her mission. but she is still the same, still amazing, still in our hearts, still our best friend. it's amazing how some things, the important things, never change.

reese marie

she is here! reese marie hunter finally came into our wonderful family on july 30, 2011. she is perfect and seriously, the prettiest newborn i've ever seen in my life. don't believe me?? see for yourself....

the best thing about her, is her hair. it's auburn and long and beautiful. her mom has beautiful hair, so it's only inevitable. andrew, my brother, could be a model. so this baby is going to be beyond gorgeous. you'll have to wait until aug 29 for the motherload of pictures of her. patience now, patience. 

summer days

summer days are meant for things like:
the river
homemade ice ceam
tomatoes
entire days spent reading
sidewalk chalk
the pool, the ocean, WATER
roadtrips
gardens

i've had three glorious days off of work. not so glorious part... i have those days off, due to the fact that i have to work the drive thru for the next 3 days. 12 hour shifts. BUT these 3 days have been worth it.

 

Amanda and I went to Mt. Airy. Which, is one of my most favoite places on earth. For those that don't know, it's the town that the Andy Griffith Show was based off of. We ate at Snappy Lunch, and I had the most delicious PORK CHOP SANDWICH.

This man caught me creepin'. But it's obvious, this diner is precious.
